Who We Are

About & Mission

Our Purpose

Mission Statement

I
To provide a forum of true Christian education, premised upon our foundation, the Word of God.
II
To honor the Lord Jesus Christ in obedience to the leading and directing of the Holy Spirit.

We recognize that wisdom originates with God, and is not necessarily synonymous with knowledge. God's wisdom — based on the original Hebrew language of the Old Testament — is discernment coupled with understanding, which culminates in intelligence, as read in Proverbs 9:10.

Learning is a life-long process, which is supported and strengthened by study. Accordingly, we provide a forum for our students to obtain a quality education in Biblical wisdom through practical, Christ-centered courses.

In the admonition given by the Apostle Paul to his student, Timothy, there is an urgency to continue in that which he had learned (2 Timothy 3:14). This is the heart of the LBCS curriculum.

The Verse We Build On
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15
Proverbs 9:9–10
"Give instruction to a wise man and he will yet be wiser. Teach a just man and he will increase in learning."
Liberty Bible College & Seminary was founded on the conviction that God's people deserve a quality, uncompromised biblical education — at a cost that doesn't become a burden. We are not concerned with worldly praise or accolades, but with serving our students and honoring God.
What We Believe

Articles of Faith

Liberty Bible College & Seminary is a Bible-believing institution which accepts the following declarations as being taught in Scripture. They are accepted by us as truth and authoritatively reliable.

1
The Inspiration & Authority of Scripture The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the supreme authority for all matters of faith and practice.
2
The Trinity One God, subsisting in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — coequal and coeternal.
3
The Image of God The creation of the human race in the image of God, endowed with dignity and purpose.
4
The Fall of Man The fall of man and resultant human depravity — our need for redemption is universal.
5
The Deity of Christ The deity of Christ, His incarnation, atoning death, and bodily resurrection — the foundation of our faith.
6
Salvation by Grace Salvation by the grace of God alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by works.
7
The Church One holy Christian church, the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers in every age.
8
The Second Coming The second coming of Jesus Christ and the consummation of all things according to His Word.
Core Values

What Guides Everything We Do

We affirm the authority of the Bible and believe in the integration of faith, learning, and ministry. We endorse the practice of distance education as a significant contributor to the educational needs of the religious and global community.

Bible-Based & Christ-Centered
Every course, every program, every graduation traces back to Scripture. Our curriculum is Christ-centered and our standard is the Word of God.
Accessible to All Who Are Called
We charge per degree, not per credit hour. We offer no-interest payment plans. We award life experience credit. Education should not be a financial burden to those answering God's call.
Uncompromised & Independent
Our budget is not subsidized by government nor dependent on secular endowment. Our direction and guidance come from the Holy Spirit. That independence protects the integrity of what we teach.
Practical for Ministry
We offer courses designed for people already in — or preparing for — ministry. Textbooks are included and become your personal library. Learning builds on what God has already done in your life.
Honoring Service Already Given
Students may receive up to 40% of credit hours for life experience in ministry. We recognize that many of our students have already invested years serving the Lord.
Born-Again Faculty & Staff
Every faculty member and staff at LBCS is a born-again Christian. Our instructors are gifted teachers who love God and are invested in your growth in His Word.

In Honor of Our Founder
Executive Director Emeritus & Founder
Dr. Robert J. Long
B.Min. · M.B.S. · D.B.S. · S.Litt.D.

Dr. Long was born in Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army before finding his calling in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was saved, baptized, and in 1979 answered God's call to preach. He founded the radio broadcast "Salvation Unlimited" in 1985, preaching every Sunday until 2001, and served as an evangelist and pastor, seeing many souls saved for Christ.

In 1999, he founded Independent Baptist Alliance, Inc. (IBA) — a movement of independent preachers and churches across America. And in time, burdened to make Christian education accessible to believers everywhere, he founded Liberty Bible College & Seminary.

Dr. Long felt strongly that God called him to start this school. His prayer — shared by all of us who carry his work forward — was that students would enjoy their studies and use what they learn here to win lost souls for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We honor his legacy with every student who enrolls and every degree that is conferred.
